Internships at Champaign Counseling focus on building your toolbox and confidence as a future clinician.

At Champaign Counseling, we believe in creating the best atmosphere for our clients and employees while giving back to our community. Our mission is to help members of our communities reconnect with the things that are truly important and thrive, both in their own lives and in their relationships. We strive to make wellness a down to earth practice. Our vision is to eliminate mental health stigma by creating awareness of, appreciation for, and acceptance of mental health self-care. We are a fun, dynamic, and collaborative team who values working together to help to improve the health and wellness of our communities.

Our practice takes a modern, supportive, and inclusive approach when considering internships. We want to be able to provide the best possible wisdom for both clients and interns. This is demonstrated by our mission to make sure that our interns are compensated fairly, given proper guidance, and on-boarded thoroughly into our practice. This internship was created to support students who are currently developing their skills in the mental health profession and are looking to gain a real-life application of the knowledge they’ve learned in the classroom. We require that potential interns be invested in their work for a minimum of 2 semesters.

Champaign Counseling seeks to work with students who are committed to working with and are interested in developing an expertise with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma and/or depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. Applicants who have previous experience working with children and families and have knowledge of trauma treatment are preferred. We seek candidates who are eager to learn and show grit and passion for the mental health field.
